  1. โ€œI have spent most of the day putting in a comma and the rest of the day taking it out.โ€

Commas are a vexation. Unfortunately, a truly necessary one. lol. In December, I finally–after 10 years of writing, had a short story published in an anthology. Before sneding it, I checked it a zillion times at least (maybe I exaggerate–but I checked it over a lot) and the editor told me it wasn’t too bad. She had to take out a few commas. ๐Ÿ™‚

The last ten years I’ve spent, among other things, building on my High School level knowledge of grammar and punctuation. This is my best advice: Learn it a little at a time. Don’t try to teach yourself all of it at once.

This post is a good beginning. ๐Ÿ™‚

And when you participate in blog-hops like snippet sunday or weekend writing warriors, and you have a specific question about a comma in your snippet–to leave it in or take it out, just ask. Most participants are more than happy to chime in.
