Cardio vascular exercises, or “cardio” for short are essential for a healthy heart. All it amounts to are exercises that involve the large muscles like legs and help make your heart and lungs stronger. Cardiovascular exercise have lots of health benefits like lowering your blood pressure, and also it can burn lots of calories – for those of you who want to lose weight.
So how often do you do “cardio” work and for how long? A good average is 30-60 minutes 3 to 6 times a week; all depending on your training level. Too much “cardio” is just as bad as not enough. If you don’t do any, start today. Get with a trainer if possible and let them get you started on a good solid “cardio” program.
